The Final Wave is in Pre-Production!

Officially, as of today, our initial deposit has been made and what remains of our massive over-zealous Kickstarter from 2019 has been handed off for pre-production to our manufacturer.
This means that over the next few months, all of you who have been waiting for years will begin to see proofs and final production samples before we move into mass-production of this gigantic final wave of products.

The pre-production process is largely dependent on the size and complexity of the project being produced, and like everything Middara, this last wave is tremendously complex and large. With that said, we are going to try our best to deliver this by the summer 2026.
We have no doubt that as we continue forward into production, we will have more news to share, including a delivery timeline from the manufacturer themselves.
Based on this year’s economic and logistical chaos, we can’t front the risk of overprinting this wave and thus our surplus will be very slim, aside from a small inventory for 2026’s convention circuit.
Although we are not in a position to carry inventory like we have in the past, we will try our best to gauge demand and meet it.
We will continue to update everyone as we move forward.
As a reminder, the following products are on the final wave…

Wave 2A Still Fulfilling
It’s hard to believe, but Wave 2A fulfillment is still ongoing. Much like Wave 2B, the fulfillment of Wave 2A is out of our hands and in the hands of our fulfillment warehouses.
Wave 2A orders for the EU are fulfilling, albeit very slowly. If you still haven’t received your rewards, your patience may be wearing thin. We wish there was something we could do other than incessantly emailing and calling our warehouse. In the end, you will be receiving your order. Hopefully it won't be too much longer. We will continue to press our warehouse.
Our Asia and ROTW warehouse typically takes a long time to fulfill because the fulfillment requires a threshold of orders to make them worth the shipment. In other words, it’s not just MIddara’s campaign that makes up the shipment, it’s other publisher’s campaigns as well. Once that minimum threshold is met, the orders are shipped in bulk to their respective consolidation centers, then dispatched from there.
Fulfillment this year has been rough and new challenges come about weekly it seems. For example, our shipments, and all other campaigns’ shipments to Brazil, were all returned back to China late last month due to some pallets not being labeled correctly.
For orders in Brazil and other Latin American countries like Chile and Argentina, we are working on a way to get those fulfilled through our US warehouse. The problem is that this will be insanely expensive for us, so we’re trying to find creative ways to get this done.
In short, everything will be fulfilled and we apologize for such long delays in these regions.
What About The Crawl Compendium and The Bellicose PvP Teaser?

The Crawl Compendium and The Bellicose PvP Teaser both took a back seat during the development of this campaign, but we have not forgotten about either, and we still have plans to fulfill our promises on both.
The Crawl Mode of Middara has so much more to offer than it currently does, and with Act 2 + 3 now submitted, we’re actively working on scheduling our designers to create not only the promised Compendium next year, but also a more robust release schedule for Crawl Mode content in general.
Regarding The Bellicose Arena PvP Mode, alongside the release of The Crawl Compendium next year, we will also be showcasing our ideas for this PvP mode of the game to let you all run wild with it.
Seeing the Sun—Yet Back To The Trenches

While many of us at Succubus Publishing have moved onto future endeavors, this accomplishment frees up our overworked graphic designer to finally focus on all the new projects that everyone else on the team has been striving for.
Something we have been waiting on with bated breath.
We have finished games, grand plans, dozens and dozens of unreleased 3D CADS, hundreds of pieces of unreleased artwork, and completely written projects as large as Act 2+3… However, we aren’t going to be working on anything so ambitious for the time being.
Until delivery of this final wave, future projects from Succubus Publishing will be smaller expansions that are either additive to Middara by nature or achievable small scale passion projects by individuals on our team. While we must press forward with new content to stay in business, we are committed to avoiding any complex or large scale board games until after this final wave is delivered.
The sheer scale of this project has been one hard lesson after another for us. The amount of time it's taken for us to deliver this game is inexcusable, and we refuse to put ourselves, or you as backers, in a similar situation in the future.
In this way, our internal team can keep their eyes on the prize—delivering the final Acts of Middara: Unintentional Malum.
A Publishing Company at Heart

When we founded Succubus Publishing, we knew we wanted to do more than just make our own games. We wanted to help others bring their own visions to life. Since 2018 we’ve had plenty of others come to us with their submissions. Some games were emailed, some physically sent, and others brought to us in person at conventions.
But our missteps over the years proved to us we weren’t ready to facilitate games made by others. The truth is—there have been some truly amazing games we’ve turned down over the years. Many were picked up by other publishing companies or even crowdfunded by their creators to reach their deserved success.
We helped however we could, even when we didn’t have skin in the game. Because every mistake we've made, every obstacle we've overcome—we see them as tools we can share.
With renewed confidence and a plethora of knowledge under our belt, we’ve decided that now is a great time for us to consider moving forward with directly helping passionate creators who have games we already play and love. We’ve since circled back to identify responsibly-sized projects that we feel confident in facilitating given our contacts and expertise.
In addition to supporting Middara with new digestible content and launching smaller passion projects by internal team members, you can expect us to be publishing finished games created by fellow creators who share our passion in game design and community building.
